The qualification SIR30112 Certificate III in Community Pharmacy is an ideal qualification for new and existing retail pharmacy staff already working within a pharmacy store seeking to have their existing skills recognised or upgraded.
There are no educational prerequisites for entry into this training program. To undertake this program as a traineeship then you must be working in a Pharmacy. If the participants has completed SIR20112 Certificate II in Community Pharmacy. RPL options will be discussed regarding credit transfer.

The course consists of Twenty Six (26) units of competency comprising of seventeen (17) core units and nine (9) elective units. Just Careers Training (JCT) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO ID 91413) that has developed a program that meets the requirements of this qualification; all these units of competency are well suited to a role within a pharmacy store.

- Pharmacy Assistant.
- Dispensary Assistant
Options for Delivery:
This course is available as a traineeship in the workplace if you are working in a suitable role, this course is also outside of your workplace or if you are not currently working in a suitable role by correspondence and online. If you believe you have the skills and knowledge you could also consider Recognition of Prior Learning
If you are working in a suitable role then some assessments may be completed in the workplace. Other assessment methods may include;
- Written questions
- Tasks and projects
- Scenario based questions
- Collection of evidence of prior skills and experiences
To complete this you must be working in a suitable role within a Community Pharmacy. If you are not currently working within a Community Pharmacy, then you will have to arrange some work experience (60 hours) with a Community Pharmacy. To complete this course online then you will also need access to a personal computer (or similar), the internet and a printer. In order to submit all assessments online a scanner will be required (you may post if you do not have a scanner).

Once complete, successful participants can further their skills and knowledge by undertaking other qualifications such as Certificate IV in Community Pharmacy , Certificate IV in Retail, and other suitable Certificate IV qualifications.
