HLTAID011 - Provide first aidThis course is designed for those wishing to attain the Statement of Attainment currently recognised as a "First Aid Certificate". This course also incorporates the course requirements for the Statements of Attainments: 'Perform CPR' and 'Provide Basic Emergency Life Support".

HLTAID012 - Provide an emergency response in an education and care setting: This course covers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults.

It applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

This unit of competency may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).

Specific licensing requirements, including requirements for refresher training, should be obtained from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and/or relevant state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authority.

Current industry standard is for both these certificates are that they are each required to be updated every 3 years with the CPR component being updated every 12 months

PrerequisitesThere are no pre-requisites for this unit competency

Course format

Standard - Once enrolled, you will be provided access to our online portal where you will be required to complete your online Multiple Choice Quiz. This online quiz should take you no more than 30 min - 3 hours. You will be required to bring the result sheet of your quiz showing 100% result (you will get learning resources and 3 attempts)

You will then be required to attend your practical training / assessment at the time and date booked for a presentation and practical demonstration to develop your skills and knowledge followed by theory and practical assessment.

Refresher - You will be required to attend your practical training / assessment at the time and date booked for a presentation and practical demonstration to develop your skills and knowledge followed by theory and practical assessment. You will need to bring the original copy of your current certificate or a certified copy.

Where are the courses held?

The public courses are held in our training facility located at:

815 Boundary Rd, Coopers Plains, QLD 4108

You may also arrange for this course to be held in your workplace, school, community centre, etc as long as the venue is suitable and there is a group of 8 or more. If you have a group of people who would like to arrange to undertake this course then our customer service team can send you a simple facility check list that will help us assess if the location is suitable for training. Just Careers Training can also arrange for training in other locations with sufficient notice and numbers. A fee will be determined based on your requirements.

What do I need to bring?

All pens, paper, writing material will be provided by Licences 4 Work.

You will need to bring:

Standard Course - Your multiple choice result sheet(s) (must be printed once you complete your online quiz)

Refresher Course - Your current Certificate (original or certified copy)

Your Identification - at least 1 photo ID which contains your current Name, Address, DOB, Photo and Signature

What will be covered in the course?

This Course covers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty.

It applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
